Technical Game Design Document

So I have toiled and troubled over the last 3 months with my Game Design document. I got it all spiffy and shinny and had my mentor look it over. After he suggested correction I spent a week or two fixing it. Then I had someone else look at it. After I fixed and what they suggested I think I am now done. So I go to show it to my developer and he says "This maybe good for a publisher to read, but it doesn't tell me to do jack!"
Now I know what information he wants and needs to start making the demo. But I wanted to know if there is a template out there or if someone would share an example of work they have done on Technical Design Doc. One that explains GUIS and Server roles and things of that nature.

Even though I had tech specs written up, I had downloaded the free version of Essential PIM, and the hierarchical notes it can export into RTF format (with a table of contents hyperlinked!) make it a very easy app to use, especially if you have a lot of information to organize.

Interesting. I will take a look at that app. Currently reading an article on Gamasutra right now about design docs.
