Ultimate Duck Hunting on Wii

by Scott Burns · in Torque Game Engine · 12/19/2007 (1:27 pm) · 12 replies

Well, considering I've seen no posts about it around here I thought I would make mention of spotting the first Torque game on the Wii out in the wild yesterday. That game was Ultimate Duck Hunting.

I thought I was starting to hallucinate from all the Xmas shopping exhaustion, but it's real. I must say I was surprised to see it sitting there as I was expecting that Zorro game to be the first Torque powered game on the Wii.

Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with everyone.

Very cool, congrats to the team for getting it out there. I'm surprised there wasn't a mention of this by GG.

Scott and I were surprised too. I happened to run into him at Best Buy. He told me I had to see something, so he pulled me over to the Wii section and pointed it out. My first thought was "Awesome." My next was why it had not been announced here.

Either way, very cool release. Congrats to the developers , and yes, I will be picking it up after the holidays. Should work well with my new "Wii blaster"

Ouch, that's an overly harsh review. I know I've only played the demo but it's not that bad. That's a prime example of why I think critics need to take into account the target audience when reviewing a game.

Yeh, I agree very harsh. It took a lot of work to make it I'm sure. I've never played it I just love the review... it makes me laugh everytime I see it. I have a fishing game that I'm sure most people would be bored to tears playing but I like it... so yeh the reviewers obviously didn't take into consideration the target audience. Plus I've been bird hunting once and it was boring also... but that kinda the point...

I have met, worked with, and spoken to the developers of Ultimate Duck Hunting, and the Wii version was not made with Torque.

Heh, someone needs to remove it from the GG site then I guess? When I first saw it there were quite a few little things that made me think of Torque. I wonder what happened?

The PC version was made with Torque. The Wii version was not from what I understand.

Ahh I see. It is too bad really. The path to Wii appears to exist but isn't a viable option for many, yet.

I think it was in development at the same time Pronto was working, and I don't know if either knew of the other's existence.

Wow that was a very brutal review! No offense to the guys who made it but that review was funny. I mean if you watch the other reviews they make they always put some kind of humour into it, but that was just brutal! WOW!
