Player clip that allows projectiles to pass ???
by TheGasMan · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 11/30/2007 (8:33 am) · 22 replies
Before I go off and make something I may not need to...
Does anyone know of a way to block a player while allowing their projectiles to pass through ?
(think Quake 'player clip' brush)
thanks

Set only 1 frame with totally transparent bitmap, remove "kick off" effect - and you are done.

A Forcefield Object could do it.Set only 1 frame with totally transparent bitmap, remove "kick off" effect - and you are done.

Sorry, this product is only available to members who have purchased 1.4... or something to that effect. I have a license to TGEA, should I be able to have access to these resources? If so, who do I contact.

Its a TGE thing, not a TGEA thing ...
As pure TGEA user you will need to integrate an own trigger basing object (basing on the integrated physics zone perhaps) that does this.

If I would have purchased the TGE license for $150.00, then turned around and upgraded to TGEA for another $150.00.. then I'd have access to TGE things as well as TGEA.. and both engines.. etc? Instead of going strait to TGEA for 295.00? How does this make sense?? (not necessarily directed at you Marc.. more at myself)
Surely this can't be accurate where you get twice the things and twice the access for about the same price as someone who only made one transaction instead of two. If it is.. shame on me.
bah.. off topic. OK, I will try another avenue. Thanks for your time Marc.

Avoid that one guy though, he would probably have a coronary.

...I am sure if you talk to the right people at GG, that this will not be a big or difficult issue. Avoid that one guy though, he would probably have a coronary.

Thats the price cut you have as pre-release guinea pig for GG :)

How does this make sense: 150$ was EA offer to TGE owners only and was removed at the day of TGEA release.Thats the price cut you have as pre-release guinea pig for GG :)

In that case, yes the missing access to TGE stuff is a little bit of pointless then

Interesting, when did this option get added back? because it was removed in Feb when TGEA was released. In that case, yes the missing access to TGE stuff is a little bit of pointless then

Oh, that's what I thought too when I purchased my TGEA license. I had seen that people could upgrade from TGE so I assumed all I had to do was to buy the TGEA license and get access to TGE too. But apparently I was wrong.

Either I could pay $295 for TGEA or I could pay $295 for tge, tgea and showtool pro.
I am beginning to find this place 'Hilarious'. Need I even explain ?

Can I get clarification on this from an employee/staff person either here or via email?

Use the support contact form. Most likely the fastest way

I'm not sure if this problem is critical or just major ;)

The contact form seems more of a bug report thing rather than customer service?I'm not sure if this problem is critical or just major ;)

I'll submit a support message. They have always been reasonably quick with their response. But the thing is... at this point, I'm not entirely sure what I'm asking them in all honesty lol. Am I saying I want the same deal as the TGE/TGEA route.. or just access to all the same resources.. or just an explanation. I think the latter two (I have no need nor desire for TGE). Dunno.. we shall see.LK

I was thinking the latter two. But access to TGE wouldn't be unreasonable I think.

It shouldnt be, and would be a nice way to even out their purchase system.

I have several scenario's where I need to block a player from being able to pass but will allow projectiles.. something that is totally invisible.
Suggestions welcome
