Does anyone see when Torque will become a technology for making games for PS2/3 ? Is it going to be after 1 , 2 or 5 years?May be now someone is going to tell me "you can make the platform layer by hand if you are too good programmer" , but i am just a developer who know how to use the engine.

I other words. it's now possible. How do you think i (as a developer) can dig into PlayStation SDK and the TGE SDK to build this porting layer???? If i am capable to do this (as may be noone here can do it) may be the guys from Nasa will bum on my door and invite me to join them to the Mars mission in 2025.

Why do it anyways? You are just going to waste time and thousands of dollars on a system which will fail in 1 or 2 years tops.

I don't understand anytihng you said in your last post can you rephrase? Are you saying no one here is smart enough to work on an easy task as to port the TGE to PS3?Why do it anyways? You are just going to waste time and thousands of dollars on a system which will fail in 1 or 2 years tops.

Porting anything to the PS3 is not an "easy task", for anyone.
You may or may not be right about your predictions on how the PS3 will do, but it doesn't matter in this conversation, so let's not talk about it here :)

To try to nip this in the bud before it becomes a flame war:Porting anything to the PS3 is not an "easy task", for anyone.

Well, for anyone looking at a middleware engine for console development, one of the key things to know is that you will have to already be a licensed developer for the console or already have a proven target path to get your game there. For example, TGEA has a proven path to the XBox 360. If you were a licensed developer for the 360, you could enter into negotiations with GG to purchase a license to TGEA 360. Right now, there is no PS3 path for licensed developers on the Torque front. That may change in the future, but it doesn't change that you'll have to be a licensed developer unless Sony radically alters its policies on licensing.

Haha okay Zepp. And what I meant by easy task is that there are a lot harder things and that something like this isn't really difficult if you set your mind to it and know what you are doing and work at it.

Mr Blake told something about Xbox306 path . Ok - let's assume i get the license form garagegames and the all needed technology to make the 360 game. i think licensing don't just stops here. I must ontain license from Microsoft too. am i right? So if you make TGE an engine to be used to make games for PS2/3 then i will have the technology and i will have to obtain a license from Sony. So obtaining the license for PS2/3 is just hte same as for Xbox360 except that TGE still isn't a technology for making games for PS2/3(or better say it is but hasn't porting to PS).

Hey, guys, i know my english is not good enough, anyway i am not american or english to speak it very well. this is my second language. However , on the topic. Please don't take my answers personally. I just come to think about it having in mind that still there isn't TGE/A version of the engine that can be used to make games with PS2/3. By the way i don't understand why if it is so easy for some people to do it why they just don't do it ?Mr Blake told something about Xbox306 path . Ok - let's assume i get the license form garagegames and the all needed technology to make the 360 game. i think licensing don't just stops here. I must ontain license from Microsoft too. am i right? You will have to obtain a license from Microsoft (or Sony, should a Playstation flavor of Torque become available) and then you will have to obtain the license from GG. They cannot provide you with a license before you are registered with Microsoft or Sony or other console manufacturers.

Actually, it's backwards. You will have to obtain a license from Microsoft (or Sony, should a Playstation flavor of Torque become available) and then you will have to obtain the license from GG. They cannot provide you with a license before you are registered with Microsoft or Sony or other console manufacturers.

There is nothing announced at this time for Sony consoles. And I'm not privy to unannounced projects. Right now, I would recommend going by announcements.

I just downloaded a game demo on the PS3 for Rocketman: Axis of Evil that was built on Torque.
