If you lose all your lives............

..........Do you have to start all over at the beginning of the game, or are there "save points" that you can use?

It seems a lot of work to start over if you lose all Gish's lives!

Brand new to this game, got to the Egypt level of the Demo, and really enjoyed it, except for the part where you have to start all over.

I bought the game, in the hope that there would be saving mechanism, could any one help me on this?

Seems there has not been much action on this forum in a while, so I hope somebody reads this.
