Attatching weapons to charcter.

Hi i need help im trying to work out how to swap out graphics
eg.i have different drawings of the character shooting should i use these.
Or attach the arm with gun as a seperate object .
If i attach the arm as a seperate object do i do the same for the sword .
because i need the sword animation to be natural but this way it wont be.
Does every animation hav to set up at the same size like the dragon im running into problems with the sword attack being to big for the box.
can i have a eg .of what i would use the action animation for.
has anyone set up the hole character with the gun so it doesnt look like the dragon at all .
any help thankyou.

Im about to start trying the same thing.
I'm going to be mounting it all in the code, and doesn't have the bounds as in TXB,
if you need it to be outside the animation's box.
