Indoor Maps

Hello,

I am currently working on a game that involves indoor and outdoor maps. I know making the layout for the outdoor maps is no problem but what would be the best way to make an indoor map?

I agree. Constructor is, in my opinion, *the* tool for it.

In my opinion, it's a godsend. For the longest time I avoided Torque like the plague because I hated the asset pipeline; one 3rd party app relying on a 3rd party converter to get something (hopefully) out of the editor and into the engine without a bunch of tweaking, troubleshooting, or working around odd quirks or limitations. That's what it was like for a time as an artist/content creator. If you didn't have a programmer handy, or couldn't program yourself, you were slave to selecting from a handful of convoluted and unintuitive options. It was frustrating to say the least.

However, since Constructor came along (and I silently thank its creators every time I use it) creating and importing DIFs has become effortless - actually *fun*. It does have its quirks - the camera takes some getting used to, but it's a solid tool. It's powerful and versatile and exporting is a snap. That's the way a content creation tool should be for a designer - empowering and intuitive. So glad someone finally stepped up and provided one for this engine, and I hope that trend continues in the future.

As a second option that works well, too, try 3D World Studio from Leadwerks. It's a good app as well, is pretty intuitive and solid, though it has some lingering quirks in it as well.
