When I read your post on the other forum, I fired up the Mac version of the Kit, hit F11 and it crashed. Nuts.
So I fired it up again, a low and behold, I couldn't get it to crash again. I did this several times and at various resolutions (normal and full screen) but no luck. Everything worked perfectly. Crazy. I'll keep testing the Mac and see if I can track down the problem there.
Novack says he's spotting the same errors you are but his PC version is running fine. He's going to look into it as well.

Just so we're clear, I'm on PC (Windows XP), not Mac.

For now, use the Mission Editor only inside a loaded mission, and you should have no problems. In fact, what the editor does, is try to load a new mission prior to show. We will search for a solution.
Edit: And anyone is actually invited to search with us :P

Deo, as far as I can see, the error is happening only if you hit F11 outside of a mission (no actually playing the game). On a side note, this happend on previous versions too.For now, use the Mission Editor only inside a loaded mission, and you should have no problems. In fact, what the editor does, is try to load a new mission prior to show. We will search for a solution.

I just noticed that pattern myself, came back to post about it, and here you are telling me that's how it works.
One problem, then, with this is that the camera is nearly impossible to control because it's bound to the RTS camera settings, so it's really hard to manipulate the world that way. I suppose I could just have a separate build of 1.5.2 and make the worlds in that, copy the files over to the RTS kit in 1.5.2...

I imagine that actually the alt+c should work instead of alt+q, but for some reason if I use alt+c before any other camera command it show a grey screen. (another bug?)

Ah but you can change the camera. Inside the Mission Editor press ALT+q (drop camera at player) an you will have the classic camera management. To return to RTS camera system press ALT+c (toggle camera)I imagine that actually the alt+c should work instead of alt+q, but for some reason if I use alt+c before any other camera command it show a grey screen. (another bug?)

Once again I found this out on my own and came back to post about it and you've already told me the answer.
As for why alt-C doesn't work... I think it's attached to an Observer Camera that is under the terrain. Alt-Q is the better solution.
Thanks again Novack.
Also, thanks to Derry for helping me out behind the scenes via e-mail.

As Novack has said elsewhere: Additional community participation is welcome :)

Just a quick note to say that the next "RTS Community Project" for Novack and I is to implement the forum bug fixes. The other is to continue tracking the bugs that are reported (such as yours Deozaan), find fixes (we hope) and continue to keep the TDN documents up-to-date with new patches and info.As Novack has said elsewhere: Additional community participation is welcome :)

And for the second revision of the patch we are planning to fix the editor issues, and make other script pending updates to the 1.5.2 engine version

Novack, although I had no issues with working with the old walkthroughs, I commend you on keeping the process updated. Your persistence is the driving force behind most of the RTS's existence now. Great work!

I have no doubts now. Im just choosing this, and while I feel happy I'll keep that choice. If the times comes when this kind of work does'nt make me happy any more, Ill just focus on my own project, knowing what I have done, what people I have meet, how much I have learn, and how happy I was doing so.
That being said, I dont have ilimited time to work on this (like any of us), but I will try to do my best.

Thanks John. I know I have done some work, but at this point your support (James specially, for his work and support) its very important. Now Im enjoying this so much, but for moments Ive doubted about the point of this.I have no doubts now. Im just choosing this, and while I feel happy I'll keep that choice.
