Looking for software, not composers

Hello, GG.
I've been (was, been hit by an obstruction of progress right now) working on a stealth-action first person shooter which takes place mostly in Middle-East Asia and Far-East Asia. I need a free music composition program that I might be able to use to make that kind of music. Like Ouds, some Electric Guitar for making the player feel high and mighty, that kind of thing. Any ideas? I've tried Buzz Machines but I don't think that synths are going to do the job.

Why don't you try something simple like Music Creator 3? Its not free, but its cheap (around $40). I started with MC 2, and it suited my needs for many types of plugins/synths. Spend the $40, then go to kvraudio.com and download some free synth instruments.

Yeah, definitely check out www.kvraudio.com/ it's a good resource for finding free synths and music software creation tools. Even if you have cheap synth sounds, if you get the right effects (free guitar amplifier vst effects) then you can make something that will sound at least similar to a guitar. Also look for soundfont players and search for soundfonts (.sf2 files) in world/ethnic categories and you might find some suitable oud soundfonts to use in the soundfont player of your choice. There's also an oud vst that I have, so once you get your program going and figured out how to add vst plugins, send me an e-mail and I'll send you some plugins that should help you out.djstoltzrecords@hotmail.com
