Check this out and imagine the games you could make on this baby! Seriously, this is the coolest thing surpassed only by 3d screens in my opinion. Not counting the far future of course. Give me a cool RPG like NWN on the Surface. That would be awesome!

I design and direct games for Somatic Vision. We primarily make games for use with biofeedback, but our latest game, Tropical Heat, a jet ski racing game, is for regular gamers and is available on PC/Mac and will be available on ipad and iphone soon.

I however am going to write a virus that places coffee stains or animated spills underneath that tracks when someone tries to wipe it (through the touch interface) then plays hysterical laughing sounds...

I was chatting to justin about this the other day and even boring old school games like chess would be cool as you could have a ton of em and easily switch between them, board games, you name it.I however am going to write a virus that places coffee stains or animated spills underneath that tracks when someone tries to wipe it (through the touch interface) then plays hysterical laughing sounds...

There's something similar, though not as bleeding edge tech, at the Walker Art Center where you can pick up people and have them tell you information about various topics. Or just throw them around the screen. Pretty fun stuff.

Awesome device. At $5,000 though, I think I'd rather get a monitor with 3D display.

Now I know where microsoft are heading with WPF and Silverlight, I was wondering what the flashy movie on the MS Silverlight site was about... I thought it was just some overhyped flash killer, but no, they have bigger tricks up their sleeves!

Of course the first ones will be expensive and mostly commerical for now, just wait in a couple years, in your home alone, the bathroom mirror, coffee table, kitchen cabinet all with have the ability to do the same thing. the potential is amazing for this kind of thing.

This is one of the sources that Spielberg researched for minority report actually. Everything they did was based on actual tech being developed.Of course the first ones will be expensive and mostly commerical for now, just wait in a couple years, in your home alone, the bathroom mirror, coffee table, kitchen cabinet all with have the ability to do the same thing. the potential is amazing for this kind of thing.

No object recognition out of the box, but it could be a fun playground.

Imagine painting geometry with your hands and not just a mouse or pen. But with your fingers. Now we are talking. Damn. I might be able to really do something with 3d art if it gets more and more hands on like scupting and painting.

This is going to be huge with the Sims games. I'd be really interested to see what other industries can do with it. Like medical and education.Imagine painting geometry with your hands and not just a mouse or pen. But with your fingers. Now we are talking. Damn. I might be able to really do something with 3d art if it gets more and more hands on like scupting and painting.

Looks pretty cool, though I'm sure it'll be very hard for "pros" to play with that, its just so much slower then the mouse and hotkeys :P

Yeah but at least you can grab your opponent's hand to stop him from selecting his units, wrestle him into submission while dragging your knee across his units smearing em all over the place ;p

That's cool. It looks like a giant pen tablet with the game projected down onto it.
