How to make a free game make dinero

I'm wondering how a free game would be able to make money to help support it's efforts of updating and paying for licenses of software?

Sounds like you want to sell your game? If you want any type of compensation for it, then why is it free? I'm not trying to sound like an ass here but why not try to sell it super cheap instead? Donations are probably the best bet for a free game? my few cents:)

Well, you can attract people to it by making it free. Then if they like the game, you can make it so they can become a member on it. So, when making the game, add exlusive items, content, etc... that only members can see/use=)

If it's a really good game, then make them pay like $10
Or, if it has graphics like Runescape or Frogger: The Great Quest, then make the price like $5
It mostly depends on:
- Good game play?
- Good graphics?
- What others think of the game
- What most people would pay if they liked the idea of your game. So, if it's a really good game, but like $50 memebrship, probably no one would pay. But, if you had it affordable to a "every-day" person, they would go for it. You know what I mean?

Free to play version and a Members version which all additions to the map are on.

but you need a player base for that.
