Maya 8 tips .cfg file

Hey.
I ran into a couple of snags while moving from Maya 6 exporter to Maya 8. I solved them and thought I'd share just in case anyone else runs into the same problem.
Like many here, I stumbled on the infamous dtsScene problem where the exporter would not read the .cfg file correctly (or rather.. too correct) and added the enter after each line resulting in something that looks like this in the .dump file:
"Always export node: "eye
"
After having read through some forums I found SuperEdi ( http://www.wolosoft.com/en/download.html ) which allows you to save files in Unix format. This solves the problem with the exporter reading the .cfg file "too correct", and has the benefit of being freeware.
The other thing I ran into was that this version of the exporter picks up EVERYTHING in your file. All your animation helpers, all your constraints, all your nurbs circles to help you animate, everything. So next I had to go through the scene and add all those to the NeverExport section of the .cfg file and now everything exports fine again.
I also want to say much kudos to the people who wrote this version. It's much, much faster than the Maya 6 exporter and really picks up everything in the scene without me worrying that a node or a bone will not be expoted. Much kudos to you!
Hope this post helps someone. :)
