Aligning Face to Face

I had a question with Constructor about aligning a face to another face.. I know Quark had a function in it, but dont remember what it was called. But basically you can select a face and "weld" it totally flush against another face. If I remember correctly, that's what was recommended to prevent it from breaking the seam into tons of polys. Is there a feature like this in Constructor?
Thanks guys! This program is very intuitive!

Thanks Dave :) One more question then.. Does Constructor do something to prevent the breaking up of the seam into tons of polys or is it even something to worry about anymore? Thanks again,
Blake

But what you could do is try out some samples and use the Scene->Generate Export Preview functionality to see what the result is. There's a bit more about it here tdn.garagegames.com/wiki/Constructor/Viewports under the Export Render Mode heading.

I'll have to leave it to Matt to answer that as he put together the direct-to-DIF functionality. But what you could do is try out some samples and use the Scene->Generate Export Preview functionality to see what the result is. Thanks for the quick response David! Gonna try what you suggested till I hear from Matt . :) I really like the layout with Constructor.. See some Lightwave ques in there, though been a while since I have used Lightwave. Nice work.

I'm not sure really sure what you are talking about...

I'm guessing that he's referring to the division of a surface into a number of smaller polygons when brushes intersect. If that's the case, I think the solution he's looking for is to use more detail brushes. I could, as I often am, be completely off.

Well I began to write up a method of accomplishing this with Workplanes and the Rest On Ground tool but when I tried it out I ran into a bug. Drat. It looks like brush faces and vertices do not work with the Rest On Ground tool. So this will have to wait until our maintenance release. Sorry.
