Can't add textures

by Holger · in Constructor · 04/08/2007 (10:35 am) · 6 replies

Just tried to build up my own texture album.

Will get the message that the original textures (jpg) from Tim Astes Building pack are not recognized
as a valid format.

I think I already found the reason.

The original texture have the size of 512 x 512

Since when is that not allowed? The program has no problem importing these same textures used on a .map file (they'll appear under "used in map"). There also seem to be several "placeholder" textures which are 512x512 built into Constructor.

At the moment, it would seem that it simply refuses to add any texture to the list.

Greetings!

Could you please provide the exact error message you're receiving and an example full file pathway you're using? Also does it appear to be just the building pack textures or all JPG and PNG files?

Thanks.

Hello!

I seem to be having the exact same problem.

When I try to add any texture (.jpg, .png, doesn't matter) it shows an error message saying

The chosen file format is not recognized texture format: "

Today it dosn't work again:

Yesterday I exported one JPG from Tim Astes Buildings pack with Fireworks.

Therefor I reduced the size from 512 x 512 to 256x 256

Today doing exactly the same dosn't help.

Same problem with Tim Astes Castle pack

With help of this tread I could "import" the textures
