Compiling question

Can somebody help me to compile tge in vs c++ 2005? I keep getting the same error but I can find them to fix. maybe some one else with the same problem that sovle it can help me out.

Thanks Matt but I just uninstalled and reinstalled VC++ 2005 and I'm still having the same problem. Everytime I try to debug an error pops up and says that.these projects are out of date:
zlib- debug win 32

As you didn't post the error itself: Do you have the Windows Platform SDK installed?(if not, the error you should get is windows.h not found and similar)

Thanks Marc but I have the windows platform install to, I had a successful build the very first time I compiled it but I had to register VC++ 2005 and I also moved torque to another drive and lost all of my work and now when I go to compile it I keep getting the same ol' crappy error message from my post above. I had same c++ knowledge but I've never encounterd some like this. Thanks for your help anyway. If anyone can help me please do so, thanks in advance!!!

Potential relative paths to external libs have changed in the project file as well when you moved it? (I know sounds like a dummy error but its the kind of error that tends to happen most of the time, not only to you ^^)

Try this:
-Open visual studio without any project
- go to Tools->Options
Under "Projects and Solutions", pick "VC++ Directories"
Choose "Executable Files" under show directories.
Make sure that that the path to cl.exe is in that list. It should be something like $(VCInstallDir)bin and $(VCInstallDir)PlatformSDK\bin, you might want to also try to explicitly add the full path to where cl.exe lives..

Sounds like your tool paths are hosed in the MSCV. Did you install it in the default location?Try this:
-Open visual studio without any project
- go to Tools->Options
Under "Projects and Solutions", pick "VC++ Directories"
Choose "Executable Files" under show directories.

maybe someone with a successful build from vc++ 2005 can tell me how their options are set up under their Projects and Solutions, VC++ Directories. Maybe I change something I shouldn't have.

It is my option settings under Projects and Solutions, VC++ Directories. The problem I have is before tgea 1.0 came out I tried compile the milestone 4 and change my original settings. If someone would be kind enough to let me know the settings they have for a successful build it would be great.thx in advance

Easiest solution is to uninstall and reinstall VC++. Make sure you are an admin when you install it. You *may* have to be an admin to compile Torque also.
