TorqueX and TGBX are not the same thing. The TDN section for TorqueX might have links to TGBX specific things, and it might not. Either way, it's reserved for TorqueX owners and possibly for TorqueX Pro owners (which isn't even available yet). So right now you don't own TorqueX which is what is required to access TDN. You'll have to wait until it's released or until GG opens it up to beta testers.

Ok Thanks.

One last question. Is the version of TorqueX we have still a beta version because in the last update, the file isn't named "beta"?

Affirmative, still in beta.

Thanks for the answer.

Have you planned when TorqueX will be in release 1? What price will be applicated to this product? Will it cost the same price as TGB or TGE or TGEA or do you mind another price?

Are you asking me? I don't work for GG nor would I have access to that info. I would GUESS that TX will be around the same price as TGB off the bat since it only supports 2D, and then raise in price with an upgrade fee when 3D support is implemented.

From posts in these forums I'd say the release is 'just around the corner'.

Hey John -

I see that its still locked as well - do you have an idea when it will open, and is it currently being filled with wonderful content/tutorials????

@Laurent: Torque X is not "for sale" yet so won't show up as a product in your account.

With respect to TDN access, since TX is not released yet, we will be granting access to the Torque X TDN to TGB users. This should happen sometime in the next week, I will post when it is active.

Hi,

Is there any anoucement of the release of TorqueX? That is for two months I use it myself without troubles. Is the beta tests are finished for the development team?

Thanks in advance

So, I'm looking at this whole post, having many similar problems. (Can't get into the Torque X section of TDN) and was kinda curious. The starter kits (specifically, the adventure/rpg pack that I was eying), are they compatible with Torque X?

Somehow, I'm beginning to get the feeling that they're moving away from this toolset/engine.

I understand it takes time to iron out all the bugs and all, but there's really been no updates as to what/when to expect (or even simple fixes like opening the sections on TDN...)

Please, tell me I'm wrong (or anything for that matter!)

James, it has been mentioned in several forum posts over the past 30 days that work is still progressing on TX especially with 3D. It has also been mentioned that TX 1.0 is ready for release and simply awaiting the XNA guys at Microsoft to get their shiz together and give the green light on TX's initial release.

The starter kits that are for TGE/A are NOT compatible with TX, but I'm sure you'll see some ports of it from the community before too long.

So, yes, you are wrong =P

Awesome.

Yeah, I just saw some of the posts in the Torque X section, which were pretty reassuring. I'm guessing the 3D portion will be separate from the 2D, similar to TGB vs TGE?

Guess I'm just a little frustrated with waiting for all this awesomeness to be finalized so people can start making those ports and tutorials. Then I can really get rolling!

I just want to say that I am DYING for a 3D version of TGB. I think any 3D in TorqueX should be modeled after TGB in terms of level builder, ease of calling animations, components (or behaviors), and ease of scripting.

Hi,

I have a Torque X indie issue installed at home and have bought torqueX platformer starter kit. I still can't have an access to Tdn Torque X part. What is the problem?

Thank you in advance

It should be open as of yesterday/today. You can thank Matt Langley for that. It's a pretty bare at the moment since it's a new user wiki, but I expect that to change as people start adding content.

Enjoy, guys! ;D

Doh! Ok, it turns out it hasn't been made public yet. Apparently only TX Pro users have access right now. Rick left for the day, so we'll probably have this opened up to all users tomorrow. You'll still need to be logged in, but any users will be ablet to access it (I think).

I'll keep you guys posted.
