I'm sure this question is asked alot but I was wondering what other people have done tto get started designing a new game using the TGE 1.5 download. I have played around with levels/missions and textures. I'v also started using QuArk for buildings etc. Just wondering how any newbies have got started?

It's a big question, and depends on what you want to make. I think diving in is the only way to go, or maybe read through the Game Programmer's guide to Torque.

Personally, I just started building a level. When that got old, I got curious about how to do other things and went and did them. It all needed to be done, so it was hard to really waste my time.

The right software helps. I prefer 3D World Studio over Quark in a huge, huge way. It's not perfect though...

Torsion is a fabulous torquescripting IDE as well. A no brainer, IMHO.

Start by modifying weapons and player attributes, physics attributes, that kinda stuff... gets fun from there ;-)
