Non Triangle mesh not supported

by Jan Guilfoyle · in Artist Corner · 02/13/2007 (7:04 am) · 5 replies

I get an error message "non-triangle mesh not supported" every time I try to export from maya. Ive tried with the most basic of shapes, (even just a cube). Has anyone an idea of why this might be happening? Cheers.

Don't use quad's in your models.

Triangulate your model.

This might seem really stupid, but how to do I triangulate a model in Maya? Is it a simple conversion feature? thanks.

I do not use Maya, but from a cursory search on Google, it seems to be Polygons > Triangulate. You will need to select your mesh.

But again, I do not use Maya so it might be different (or under a different menu, etc) for your version than what I got off of Google. The help files should have it since it is a menu item. This is just a common question that is asked.
