Tribes Revival

I know I know ...this has been said many times over the past... but damnit something about this tribes series has to be done GG! ... Ive been a hardcore Tribes fan since its existence and a hardcore arena player since the release of arena in starsiege: tribes...I played tribes2 which was ok... then I played T:V and what a mess... I cant believe such a great series has come to what it has today... left in the dust by inferior FPS's most people play today.... why was all support dropped by VU? Why can't we get some fan support going and try to at least start some sort of project? >_
For example, the fine folks at starsiege2845.com are doing a great job in keeping the old herc series part of starsiege alive... I think the tribes community really just needs a push to start something up!!!
I am not trying to be pushy but only letting out some damn frustration! grrr! If I had a million bucks lying around I'd give it to ya guys to start T4! I am sure many other people would LOVE to see a new tribes for the hardcore community made by their input and ideas.
Oh well.. Hopefully someday something will happen and I just won't be dreaming

btw to answer the other post... just because GG doesnt own the rights doesnt mean they cant ask them for it... such as the crew of SS:2845 did.... and they got it for free.

Visit www.legionsgame.com/ and notice the little Garage Games logo at the bottom of the page. It's certainly not an admission that Jeff, Josh and the other guys are building a Tribes spiritual successor, but it does look promising.

Hopefully we see some great Tribes-style action coming soon to a computer near you!

Along with the legions website, look at some of the TAT & Legions(I think there were Legions ones on there) demo videos on YouTube. The videos look familar(people jetting around playing capture the flag in large open terrain with a few buildings).Hopefully we see some great Tribes-style action coming soon to a computer near you!

Yeah I couldn't agree more I cant wait for another one but I would like to see it for the Xbox 360 also.

No it should never have to die I mean if there are more like me that want a game like this again, as in a game at least where you have a jet pack and weapons and ctf, then why not give it to us why not let everyone else keep making all of the army games don't we have enough of those can't one of those games be canceled in order to try this out one more time? Tribes wasn't even out when gaming was anywhere as big as it now they really should try it. Imagine the success it could have on the xbox 360.

Same reason stuff like Supreme Commander is not called Total Annihilation Supreme or Sigil selling out back to SOE after trying to get out something like an Everquest Three but still not calling it that.
I blame the lawyers... :)

There are legal issues too with I.P. It's already resolved in terms of technologies. So the logical step is to make a shooter game. That's NOT named tribes. Thereby allowing a company to leave any I.P. issue buried at the horse graveyard.Same reason stuff like Supreme Commander is not called Total Annihilation Supreme or Sigil selling out back to SOE after trying to get out something like an Everquest Three but still not calling it that.

Actually Intelectual Property protection rights are one of a few rights that serves well all the creators- there is no point it blaming them. I doubt that Sierra got rights to brand worth not a small ammount of money just because they are "nice fellows" (GG staff members would have full story on that but somehow I doubt they would write about it on public forum :) ). If they paid (or obtained rights in any other legal way) there is no point in blaming them for fact that they want to keep them. On much smaller scale we all want such a protection to our intelectual property.
