World Editor?

by Daniel Williams · in Torque Game Engine · 01/23/2007 (8:11 pm) · 10 replies

Does o=Torque really have World Editor? I know how the work the terrain editor, but does Torque have "world"? Meaning like I want to make a destoryed city.

If Torque has world editor, where is it and a doc for it.

Also, does anybody know how to connect the levels together? Cause I'm making a huge island and I kept have to make alot of missions. Is there ANY way at all to make the level box bigger?

Thanks.

To make your terrain bigger you can expand the terrain square size to any multiple of two, try 16. But beware, this has been known to goof up water.

How I do that? I have many school studies but I'm still learning the stuff.

Fork over $150 for TGE:A (Atlas) while you still can.

I just want to say something to all of those who feel like they NEED to create these huge expansive worlds for a good game....

Plenty of good games do just fine with missions and zoning! Look at Splinter Cell, Legend of Zelda, or Half Life 2... do these have huge seamless worlds? No, they have loading screens, and they are kick-ass games because of their story and interactivity. Once you have a few of those kinds of games under your belt, you can step up to TGE:A technology.

You will need a secondary application to create interiors (buildings) and models (DTS shapes, both static and animated).

I'm making a huge island. So that's why I want the mission box bigger. I know it'll have many loadings screens, but I just want the box bigger.

Go to the mission area editor. Click on the box and edit your area, drag the box around and edit the artea until you have your desired boundries.

This way you can easily create an island you could walk around for ages on trying to get across it.

I got it now. The thing I was talking about is the "Squaresize".
