Kork reflects

I was just playing around with a new level with standard TGE 1.5 when I suddenly noticed that the back of Kork's armour reflects a little! What? I was under the impression that this could only be done with TSE. Can anyone cast a little light on the situation?

Looks like it - on adding the octahedron static shape, it doesn't exactly reflect, but there is a sort of cloud pattern that moves as the camera does. And another thing I noticed - Kork doesn't reflect in the Stronghold mission - only when I created a new mission from within the editor. Huh.

You see the same thing if you load in a totally grey object, but the whole object is mirror like.
