Ms4.1 Reverted To Ms4
by Brian Ramage · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 12/05/2006 (12:52 pm) · 54 replies
Due to the large number of problems with the 4.1 release and lack of CVS support, we've reverted to the previous MS 4 build until there is a more solid release ready. Very sorry for the inconvenience.

Is there any chance this will get released by the weekend? Also is there a changelog for the update?

4.2 is coming out a little later than we wanted just due to some internal organization changes and time needed for QA and evaluation of the results. We've got more people on TGEA now though, so things are really humming along nicely.

The plan right now is to get it out to you guys on Monday. I'll be posting a new .plan and a new thread in the forums when it's released. I'll have a rough summary of what was changed in that post along with some more info about our upcoming plans for release.4.2 is coming out a little later than we wanted just due to some internal organization changes and time needed for QA and evaluation of the results. Gahh, build is 100% ready, but we're having problems getting it to the server. I'm told it's just not going to happen today, and will "hopefully" happen tomorrow.

I can host it :) ... Just kidding.. thanks for the update and good luck with the server issues.

Whoever is working on getting it to the server, shouldn't stop until it is all ready... whether it takes an hour or 12 hours. Just pushing it off till the next day because of other things to do, is a bit bleh.. but the "release" date has been missed every time so far, so might as well keep the trend going

Hey we arn't talking simple file hosting this is a complex operation that allows us to generate patches and easily merge it in. err well okay so its file hosting but come on online file transfer is something they can look into post 1.0 (with non-depreciated shader support), and I hear their armored truck (that transports the cd containing the build) had some vehicle physics issues due to some real big bugs (some may have been butterflies in all fairness).

A changelog while we wait wouldn't hurt. ;)

Hopefully there's an editor that works this time. :)

Yeh, a SVN repo would be a nice touch :)
