WANTED: Someone to do all the work for me.
Disclaimer: I am only reffering to the hard and boring work, not any of the fun work. The fun work will be performed by me, as that is the only work I am skilled at.
I would like to start piecing together a single-player RPG. I need someone skilled in programming to assemble all of the groundwork, according to my specifications. I need someone to create all of the framework, so that all I actually have to do is put in the characters, write the dialogue, design the dungeons and etcetera.
I am unable to offer any payment for the work. In fact, I somehow doubt that I'll even ever get to finishing this game, I just want to assemble most of it so I can show it to people who might hire me some day. I'm just being reasonable, that's all. In a few months I'll have no computer access for two years, and I really doubt I can con enough fools into contributing before that time.
So there's no money involved, and you won't even have anything to showcase, and I will stubbornly reject any creative input you have in regards to story or gameplay. This is my game, mine, darnnit!
I also have need for animators and 3D modellers.
This is not a joke.
Well, it is a joke, but I am serious. If you are interested and/or would like more information, feel free to contact me.

I'll join the project, but I have some requirements:- It has to be an MMORPG, since single player RPGs are boing and they both take the same amount of time and effort to create (so why not)[li]You have to provide licenses for all the tools I need: VS 2005 Pro, Maya 7 Pro, TGE, TGEA, TGB, Dreamer's MMO Kit, Windows Vista, and X-Box 360 Dev Kit[li]A title of some sort such as "Lead Programmer, Lead AI, or Lead My-Programmer-Ego-Is-Too-Big-And-Fragile-To-Not-Have-A-Title[li]My name second from the top of the credits, after yours of course[li]A hook up at the job that will hire you when we don't finish the game[li]Constant praise every time I add a variable and get a successful compile[li]And finally, if I have no creative input, don't tell me anything about the story during development if it involves duel wielding, a single farm boy hero who loses his family and town to an unknown evil force and eventually has to save the world with a rag tag group of EMO anti-heroes, D&D stat system, or huge freakin' swords.

I want that, too.

Caleb, while you're at it why not demand that interested people must pay $100 to become a part of this inspirational team! Then you could afford you computer and internet! Hell, with enough people you could fund your gaming company, live well and still not pay anyone!

First person that said honestly what others are trying to put in nice words :). Mate, you'll probably not be a president but surely you have a future in show biz.

He may be honest but don't give him points for it. Caleb's post is an unfortunate embarassment to hard working devs everywhere. It demonstrates exactly the wrong approach to game-making. I hope project leaders take note of this one.

I'm in, but only if I can work on sweet shader water FX 90% of the time, putting off any and all boring framework stuff that needs doing.
