Error Starting Torque

Ok, I installed Torque on my pc, and tried to run any of the demos that come with it, and every time I get an error just from starting it. My error is "Copy of Torque is already running; exiting."

but the problem is, I don't already have a copy of Torque running... so whats the deal?

Nothing in my task manager, I've even rebooted to refresh everything, and it still says I have a copy runing...

I had this error on an older machine of mine. I'd launch the application and nothing would happen. When I tried to launch again, it gave me the "Copy of Torque. . .blah blah" message. But you're saying it displays the message even on the first launch?

Do you have single-click turned on and are double-clicking the icon? I had someone who had that happen yesterday here at work. You may have hit a hotkey that turned it on (or turned it on yourself since many people like it on laptops and such).

This happens the first time I try to run it, and I don't have single-click turned on...

I had an issue with my virus scanner hosing up Torque at one time.
Try turning off the virus scanner and launching it.
