Do you have the Pro license for TGB? If so, you have the C++ source code for the engine and can tinker around with it. If not, you'll need to either figure out how to convert the C++ code to script or upgrade to TGB Pro.

Did you buy Torque Game Builder or Torque Game Builder Pro? If you bought Pro then you can use C++ in your project. If you did not buy Pro then you can't.

Also, if you bought TGB before it had its official release then you would have got the source code then. If you look in your purchase history, what version of the the product does it say you own?

I look in my purchase history
it's written
torque game builder - Indie License

so it's not pro eh?

That is correct. Of course, you can also check your installation and see if there's a directory full of c++ files in there.

There is an upgrade path from TGB to TGB Pro. The upgrade path is listed on the Pro product page.
