Purchase CVS access?

It has been said that Torque X is going to cost 150$ for a source license. Would it be possible to pay that now and get CVS access to daily builds of Torque X?
I have licenses for every engine you make and i understand that with CVS access (or SVN depending on what you use internally) things may be broken. I just figure it can't hurt to ask. Access to full source sooner would be a nice thing to have.

It has to do with quite a few business reasons, from the security module in SVN not being one that easily allows for mass access, to the resource cost of pushing code from an internal repo to an external one, to hosting, to bandwidth issues.
We know that many of our users aren't excited about the loss of CVS for various reasons, and are working on different solutions to ease the pain, but in the long run it was a smart decision to make for both GG as a company, and our products as well.

To be honest, this isn't going to happen. It has to do with quite a few business reasons, from the security module in SVN not being one that easily allows for mass access, to the resource cost of pushing code from an internal repo to an external one, to hosting, to bandwidth issues.

DreamHost.com gave me 2000gb of transfer a month, and 1tb of disk space, and they have SVN on a 1 click install. [however you have to use a shitty flat file db for passwords and they are un-encrypted in the flat file]. This hosting plan costs me 10$ a month (and they currently don't calculate svn transfer into the bandwidth but even if they did...).
Would Garage Games consider updating a community SVN at regular intervals [nothing too specific so people dont whine if they dont get a daily/weekly update but about 1x a week / every two weeks minimum], if the community were to take over the hosting cost?
What if it was an additional expense? i would pay 5$ a month for up to the minute SVN (however if i was paying 5$ a month i would like up to be working off a svn that is updated 2x a week).
This is actually a question that covers TSE as well, i have been thinking about trying to setup a community SVN for TSE for a while to get up to date bug fixes in asap.
Would GG play ball with such a thing for TorqueX or TSE?
[On a side note does anyone have access to a better server than what dreamhost offers, with more security options/account maintenance options than just a flat file w/ no encryption?]

I'll bump this up the chain some, but having been privy to the internal discussions, I just am very confident the answer is going to be "no, and we don't want you to do that either", unless you are willing to be financially responsible for every license for every person that has access...and that's not a criteria for acceptance, just a way to reinforce the idea's difficulty in management.

While I understand your interest, my gut tells me this will be a big no-no from the higher-ups (and myself as well to be truthful)--we just don't see any win-win solution (and we've spent a LOT of brain juice on it) that meets your wants with our capabilities.I'll bump this up the chain some, but having been privy to the internal discussions, I just am very confident the answer is going to be "no, and we don't want you to do that either", unless you are willing to be financially responsible for every license for every person that has access...and that's not a criteria for acceptance, just a way to reinforce the idea's difficulty in management.

I'm still kind of curious why there is a fear people will share svn info more readily than they will share GG login info.
but it is your code which does make it your call
Is there any magic number of users/cost where its suddenly feasible? 5$ a month per user x 200 users is 1k$ a month, that would buy a nice dedicated server in someone else's data center and buy 500$ worth of beer...
[I suddenly wished i had waited to get your response before proposing the same thing in the TSE private forums.]
*Edit* i sent a request to delete the duplicate thread in the TSE forums.
