Ok, im not much of a programer, and im prety dang new to TGE so bare with me. i am trying to make a space game and have been trying to find good ways to make a stary backround and give a particle effect to the mission so that there will be a sence of movement when players fly their ships around the universe. i have heard alot about starbox but have been unable to download or find it. i have also heard of the use of flying vehicles. so here is what i need...

1. does anyone have or know where i can get starbox?

2. if not does anyone know of a way i can create the space sim backround?

3. how do i create a particle effect to give a sence of motion to the player as they fly in the universe?

4. how do i create a flying vehicle?

5. how do i create a space ship of my own design. (i have been trying to figure out how to change the character from a stack of blue blocks to anything else)

any help in this would be much appreciated.

1)Not sure, but maybe you could just use the sky and change some textures.

2)See above, possibly add shapes like meteorites

3)Try playing around with particles from starter.fps

4)Do a search, maybe get a good book on torque

5)Make one in Max or Maya or some other supported 3D Modeling program then download an exporter to turn it into a .dts(Torque shape) and change the player datablock.

I have a few resources. A couple are dated, but you might find some useful info:

Star Rendering
Starbox
Starfield

Starbits 7. Excellent for creating seamless skybox textures.
