SetCloaked Bugged MS4

by JPaxson · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 11/02/2006 (1:51 pm) · 6 replies

In MS4 the %obj.setCloaked(true) function ONLY cloaks the mounted Image of the player and not the player. Has anyone else noticed this and found the fix?

Thanks

PrepRenderImage (shapeBase.cpp) add the mCloaked check yourself for the shadow image before its added to the render instance manager. prepBatchRender add the check for parent object before its animated and rendered.

It's frustrating that stuff like this isn't caught.

Caught in what sense? (: I'm sure they have spotted it. But other things probably take priority, like the lighting changes, atlas, bugs, and of course TGE / Torque X.

Caught in the sense that it should have been discovered and fixed. This IS a bug. About the other, I really don't care how TorqueX gets handled or when it is finished. I paid for TSE (TGEA) and don't like having to run down and fix a million small bugs every time I try to update. That is what is frustrating. Enjoy your coolaid, Stefan.

My point is that there are tons of similiar bugs that do not get addressed, Brett. You have to realize that they have their schedule and priorities, and you and I got ours. They, or more likely the community, will probably fix it somewhere down the road - but until then you'll have to live with it or fix it yourself. Infact, this is how EA products work and if you expected no bugs then you should had read more carefully before purchasing.

I hope I don't come off as offending. We are on the same side of the fence, but you have to understand they got other priorities and people will always complain no matter what they do because they want their feature of choice fixed or implemented (:

It doesn't matter if you care about Torque X or not, GG does and that's what matters.
I don't know what a coolaid is, but I hope it's nothing bad. :)

Looks like you fixed it, you should politely inform GG how to fix it and carry on. TSE ( or whatever it is called) is still in EA so complaining is pointless. Heck when TGE 0.1 was out we didn't have sound or projectiles.
