I think there needs to be a 3D hacker game. You work for the bad guys. You help them steal money in the banks. Make a game based on the Movie Swordfish. Now that would really be cool!

It's been around 2 years, and it's not really the type of thing he's talking about.

Yes but how can something be a "3d" hacker game... what does it involve in hacking

Saska, that's easy. Most Hollywood movies portray "hacking" as some crazy psychedelic 3D interface thingie. In Swordfish, which the thread starter mentioned, the protagonist's "worm" literally showed up as a 3D psychedelic worm onscreen. Quite funny, really.

You control an avatar who runs around a 3D city like in most games. You can get on your computer at your apartment, use the library's, or hijack a coffee shop computer. Once on a computer, the game changes to a GUI driven system like Uplink. Mini-games involving ideas like Teck Lee Tan mentioned would be a blast to play, and quite humorous. I prefer the more serious "hacking" challenges in Uplink, though. Going through the Uplink SDK is quite fun, I highly recommend it.

If you liked the game and wanted more challenges, check out the full version: you can dowload it now for $17.50 (10 pounds or 14 euros)
[Edit]
Got chopped off, apparently copy and pasting the euros and pounds stirling symbols is a bad thing. =)
