The key here is the "no promises" part. If they run into problems and it's a month rather than a week, people shouldn't complain it took longer than expected. That's one reason they shied away from giving dates in the first place.

Well a good sign is that they have the "Avaliable now" banner done :)

I really wouldn't plan on it being released anytime soon. Yes it may be released soon. You never know with GG when something will be released. It could be tomorrow or in 2 years (I doubt 2 years though).

I kind of see what you mean Marcus; Constructor has been comming soon on the web site for 2 or so years, Dark Industries XSI exporter cooming soon on the GG website over 2 years.

I consider coming soon around 6 months this is just my opinion. GG is still a great company all in all that cares about the product they put out.

So hopefully we'll see the Constructor, XSI exporter, and Torque 1.5 soon.

@ NighTerroX

I have a look on the post and i read that : "@Chris: No promises (unexpected things happen) but we're expecting it out in the next week."

It is written "week" instead of "weeks" => I am optimistic now ....

If you have a good product definition, and a good quality assurance process (i e, with automated functional tests etc), and a good development process (that lets you cut the least important features to make dates), then you really don't need to slip deliverables by very much.

Having gone from your typical top-down never-works waterfall process, to a truly agile process with a focus on quality assurance support as part of engineering, I can say that it's just not hype. It really works. The trick is that you have to want the benefits (predictability, working on the most important things instead of the most fun things).

Yeah, GG takes quite a while to do things, they are really busy.

But they do a hekka good job!

*sits in corner and waits for Constructor*

I got sick of waiting so I bought the Lawmaker engine. No I haven't left Torque for good. I have a Torque project I'm going to be starting real soon. ;) I will say that I am extremely excited about Lawmaker. Getting a team together so we can purchase the 8 developer team edition. It works out to be about 500 bones a piece.
