Questions before purchase

Howdy!!! Been watching alot of cowboy movies. :)
Anyway, I am going to purchase torque indie license and I guess I got a little confused (confused myself). On the front page there are two links on the side for indie license.
1.) Torque Game Builder
2.) Torque Game Engine
Are these really two different things? If so, what are the ups and downs of them? (Did I miss the description link?)
Also, am I just purchasing the right to use the engine through these links, which will need to be followed by having to purchase the engine aswell?
Sorry if it's all answered in the link somewhere, but I gues I didn't notice it. I am picky with my cash and like great info on things before I purchase. :D

I strongly reccomend TGE because it has a whole dimension of more possibilities than TGB. TGB is alright, but it takes a while to get used to it. TGE is good because you can just start coding logic into it, and whamm-o!

I fail to find downs with TGE. It's an awesome buy.

Excellent so far. I will probally go with TGE, but first I just need to know one more thing. Do you purchase the license and then need to buy the engine seperate? Or is it by purchasing the license you have access to the engine in someway?

You are purchasing a license to use the engine. You will have access to private sections of the forums where sorce code is available, and also have an account created for you here, where you can access the engines "installer." you will also be able to access the CVS for the latest bugs. - er bug fixes is what i meant.

If most of your experience is with Flash, TGB is going to be much easier to get into. TGE is a serious 3d engine, that is written entirely around networking concepts. Unless you are specifically looking to make 3d or realtime multiplayer games, I would absolutely start with TGB. It has much better accesibility and documentation for getting started with. Also..

This is the TGE product page.

This is the TGB product page.

Which as you can see, is two very different things. Also you can try both the engines out, TGE to the extent of scripting in the demo, and TGB with a full 30 day trial of what you get with the Indie version.

1 last question. So I would have to buy a license for both if I intended to use them both?

Yes. it requires you to buy both. however. i believe you can purchase TGB at a slight discount if you own TGE.

Well I just got TGE, and I will most likely purchase TGB and any other interesting products for development. Any feedback on other great purchases would be nice. :)

TGE was a plus in buying. Good job. Some other good purchases for it, are TLK, Ragdoll pack, and Tim Astes content and environment packs.
