Starsiege: Tribes

#1 I agree muchly. Ive been with it since the beginning, sad truth is that it is dead. It has been remade many of times, but every remake sucked.

You might know me btw, I use the Alias of Braveskin. I made the Life mods and I hosted my own RPG for a while.

#2 I wouldn't say it's dead. There are still hundreds of people still playing at any given time. I still play regularly on TopGuns Shifter. Didn't the guys at GarageGames work on Tribes? They should really, really consider remaking it.

#3 They don't own the Tribes property, Vivendi does. There is a team that got permission to make a new Starsiege game from Vivendi that is using Torque, you can look up Starsiege: 2845.

#4 Sounds cool, but seems to bear little to no resemblence to Tribes. No skiing? What!?

A remake of Tribes 1...I can dream.

#5 Oh yeah... Tribes! I remember that game. Yeah, we should think about re-making it, why did that not ever occur to us before?! ;)

Its not a remake of tribes 1 but its from people who loved playing it.

#8 Legends is still in development so don't expect too much however it is in a playable state and we have a few player. Feel free to drop by.

And yes Tribes is the best game ever!

#9 Should just do what V.alve did with CS:Source, same game, new engine..this would be with T1 obviously. Would pre-order it the second its available, this game needs to come back the way it was with Shifter especially.

#11 All someone needs to do is take TSE, put 2 flags on a map, a jetpack and skiing on a character, and give them 3 weapons and i bet youd make most of the tribes community happy for afew weeks atleast, letting them play that.

Tribes players are easy to please

#12 Know what games like tribes and quake III have taught me? Simple is fun. Tribes is almost a decade old and still active as hell. Theres still a LOT of games open. Quake III is one of the simplest games ive ever played. Still hella active. Not only that its often the shooter played at the LAN's. Its low specs and fun.

In the long run, this is false. There is so much more to Tribes.

#14 In the long run anything can be false. Because there could be so many different things that could happen. However I do still stick by and say "Tribes players are easy to please" in the contex of tribes related material.

You make skiing, a jetpack, 3 weapons and CTF with TSE, and i bet you'd make quite afew people happy to play it.

#15 Oddly enough tribes was the only video game I've ever returned, I've been addicted to doom, duke nukem, heretic, quake, halflife, CS, all the BF games. But tribes just never did it for me. I even tried tribes 2 when it came out but just couldn't enjoy it. I'm surprised to hear there's still original tribes games played.

#16 I want something like the Renegade version of tribes. I loved making small bases in that.

#17 I totally don't see why we can't make Starseige: Tribes over again in TGE. I am sure people would play it. The main reason people stop playing is because graphics are getting better, so I am sure if we could just make jetting, and lots of models, tribes could live again.

Tribes 2 was horrible. No offense to the makers. It was just the worst of them all.

Tribes: Vengeance was almost as bad.

We don't need to add anything else, just make tribes how is was supposed to be, no additions.
