Chain Reaction vs Even More Contraptions

I was just reading about Dynamix's Even More Contraptions and it looks an awful lot like Chain Reaction. Do I just have the wrong view of Chain Reaction? How do the two games compare?

    Contracptions is a rerelease of an old game that myself and the people at Monster Studios developed. Chain Reaction is an entirely new product we are developing at MS.
