How much flexibility do I have?

As I understand it the Torque engine is very tightly tied to the networking code. The networking code is designed for pier to pier style game play, supporting 10's of concurrent users. Has anyone developed a MMOPG game with Torque? Has any work been done to allow customer networking code to extend the code so it communicates with a custom server? I've already developed the core server technology for a MMOPG title. Now I'm looking for the client technology to empower it. Is Torque right or wrong for this?

Thanks

Torque is so flexible, and equal ratio would be for you to have your leg wrap around your neck twice, go down and around your other leg, between each of your fingers, into your mouth, out your rear, into a pretzel formation. I think you get the picture.
