Sounds like a 'sneak em up' like Metal Gear Solid or Splinter Cell but instead of taking the good guys your one of the evil ones. Interesting.

Thieving games are always fun. It's one of my favorite parts of Oblivion. We've all got a little amoral lawbreaker in us, it seems. =)

Does it exist any co-op versions of sneak-em-up?

I only tried the Splitter Cell multiplayer game which wasn't fun at all :-(

I say! Make a co-op sneak-em-up :-)

Yes indeed, we need more co-op multiplayer games. It's more fun to cooperate with people who are infinitely more skilled than you, than to be shot at by them! =)

I got the ideal from looking at so many older movies involving jewelry theft. I was always interested in all the tools a Cat Burglar needed to rob various homes and locations like banks and hotel safes. I am currently storyboarding and doing physical designs documents for the game. Hoping to start coding it soon. Thanks for all the great feedback. As soon as I get a website going for it, I will post a link here.

Uh-oh. I've been working on a design for a game of this type for several months now. There's a little more to it than just the cat burglar aspect to it, but that does take a major role. Would you possibly want to compare notes and either work together or compare notes and try to avoid making the same game and acknowledge that we each came up with the idea seperately?

Well, I also plan on making mine in TGB, so maybe that will make the games different enough.

I figure that our characters and story line will be different, setting us apart. What's your game title? I can use the title "CatBurglar For Hire". My game won't be a multiplayer game and using only TGE and maybe the shader in the future.

I don't have a title just yet, but I won't touch anything relating to Cat Burglar. I plan on having both single and multiplayer, and there are certain features of it that I am not quite ready to reveal just yet, but it's probably safe to say that those parts will make the game a bit different from yours.

Thanks, good luck on your game, I know we will both come up with great and different versions of it.

I don't think that it matters ultimately what we develop. It's always a huge chance that it has been done before by someone else. It's our unique "spin" we put on the games that make them unique.

I want to implement similare features in my game.
It's not a priority at this point, but I've got an evolutionary approach to the current project so it might be included in the future.

I stay posted on this thread :-)

There are two games I know of game based on this idea already, called "The Clue!" and it's sequal "The Sting!" that involve carfully planning robberies to disable security systems/avoid guards/escape before you execute the plan. They was always tricky games, but fine ones none the less.

What would be sweet is a stealthy sandbox game. Heck almost any game can be made better by making it a sandbox :)

Bonanza Bros.

It's a game ported to many systems - give it a look.

You could make the game multi player. One player is the thief. There are six security guards and two museum guards ( who can sound the alarm but not make the capture ). If players "shout" to each other the theif can "hear" them. What route will the thief take???

Thank you for being an inspiration for one of my future games.
