3ds Max to DTS export walk-thru

Ok, I am new to 3ds Max and I have a few models in .3ds format. I am wanting to convert to dts and I have installed the converter plugin already. Could someone direct me from start to finish on how to do a basic export. Keep in mind I do not want to use another program and I have done a search regarding this topic. I am open to walk-thru's and also directions to the correct forum(s). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Even though I found something that might be what I am looking for any input supporting or adding to this document would be helpful. Thanks!

That's the best source of documentation right there. Read it through, it should answer all your questions. If you have any more specific problems feel free to ask.

Ok, here is what I am doing. I am importing a .3ds file and I select the entire selection and then choose bind. I uncheck x and z for rotate and axis. I then click export and put the file name in and it says, "no bounding box found"?????????? I know it must be something simple. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Please go back and read the documentation Andrew, you have clearly missed many steps in the URL that Magnus gave you with regards to getting a DTS model exported.

Just for the record, I didn't give it to him, he found it all by himself. =)
In either case, yep. Just go read it again. It's all in there.

I was able to export the building in .dts format but I am getting a message saying that it found two meshes named "Model_" of size 195. When I try to load the building torque shuts down. Showtool pro also froze and crashed. I am using version 8 sp3 of 3ds Max. Thanks.

Well, do you have two meshes named "Model_"?
If you do... rename one of them.

I cannot visually see where even one mesh is called "model_". Of course I also didn't make the model. I bought it from a pack. Anywho!!!!

Freeze, I tried your donwload and read the walk-thru on the website you posted and it's genious. Definately helped and with such ease. Thank you for sharing and I will do the same. You didn't just say to do the steps you explain why and where to go. Great Job. Thank you.
