Please stop going around and saying stuff like "I am (insert age here) so I need help!" or "I am (insert age here) so give my sympathy!". It is annoying in my opinion. As Matt said, "Your age means nothing."

Richard, build and build and build. Learn about everything you can in the engine. If it seems hard, work harder. God I wish I had this engine at your age!
Oh, and on your problem go buy these books in this order if your budget is tight:
"The Game Programmer's Guide to Torque"
"3D Game Programming All In One"
"Advanced 3D Game Programming All In One"
The first one has a very good section on particles. Also, search on the forums, there is very good info on the forums as well.

I am a 31 year old with four kids and a lovely wife. Please help stop the voices! Why won't my family just shut up?!: )

I wish I had had the motivation of these kids when I was there age, I was busy sitting cross legged infront of my TRS-80 writing what seemed to be 10,000 lines of code to animate a slot machine handle!Rock on kids, any help you need feel free to email me (its in my profile)

3D game programming all in one is a very very good book, I would start there. Although it uses Torque 1.2 there is a lot of valuable info in there.

his post is still relevent to the topic, unlike yours, which seems more like a trolling jab.
