Weapons: SpinThreads?

The chaingun in Tribes II uses SpinThreads to control the barrel animation.

Upon searching for this both on the web and GG, there's not a single entry that describes how to use SpinThreads or how they work. Neither does the source tell.

Anyone got examples? Are these true threads or just keyframe animations?

Anything?

Download my heli resource, there's two miniguns mounted to the heli which use the spin threads.

Unfortunatly there are no source files so I cannot take a look at how the animation is setup.

I got the scripts covered, just not the actual animation of the spinthread.
Thanks alot though.

Just use showtool, that should tell you everything you need to know. I leant by examining the tribes2 chaingun in showtool, if you don't work it out I can sent you a model. What 3d app do you use, ie what format would you like model to be in. I have max & milkshape, though prefer using max for animations.
