Starter questions about TSE, Resolution and Racing.starter

I hope this isnt too much of a mess, i decided to fit all of this in the same topic-
We are currently working on a little racing prototype, since we have no programming help
whatsoever at this time, weve decided to mess around a bit with the starter.racing kit and ive
got a few questions for anyone with a few minutes to spare...
-What would be the best approach to make a simple racetrack? something really flat nothing special.
the terrain editor itself doesnt give proper mapping options and doesnt have enough subdivisions so
we have to look else where.. can we just make a terrain in 3dsmax? ive looked on TDN but cant really
nothing more than infos on the built in terrain editor. perhaps importing a .dif would do the trick? but in
the long run im i getting in trouble because it might screw something with the colisions?
- If i delete the test terrain (which seems to be impossible to edit (mesh import?)) in the racing demo,
all thats left is water and theres no way to build another terrain with the world editor.. im i
missing something?
- Something may be simple but i have a real hard time reading anything in the editor because the font
is all messed up. It was ok back on my old monitor but it died and changed it for Dell 2007s (16*10 res)
and there is no way to change resolution, all the drop menus are left blanks. I tryied editing the client/default.cs but nothing seems to do the trick. Instead it opened fullscreen (and it was left at "0")
on the 2nd monitor, all the fonts were still unreadable.
if anyone can help on any of these things it be really nice, or even if you just tryied stuff that didnt work
and you know why, let me know! any info is good!
thanks in advance!

You should be able to create a track in 3dsmax and texture it however you like then export to dts.
Polysoup is built into TGEA 1.7.0.

this is a program used to make maps, pretty sure it still has a trial version Idk if it'd help you out, but you could check up on it
