Atlas question

Sorry if this is a repeat post.
I was curious about the up and coming Atlas terrain editor. In Brian Ramage's plan it says it was planned for Milestone 3 but I don't see anything in any of the posts about it. I realize that GG can't tell me any dates (and I don't want any) but I'm thinking about going into an editor of my own, and I don't want to waste my time if one is already in the works.
I guess I'm just a little worried that it's not coming for a long time. A good example of what I mean is that Constructor is in the works and I've seen screen shots, and heard a lot more talk about where it's going. I've been searching the forums but I can't find anything that talks about the Atlas terrain editor.
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks =)

I'm also working on an editor (not a conventional one). Each time I make a test it take a long time. If this test is successfull, it's great, if not, I have to restart another test and so on.
If you want to work on an editor, Great ! what kind of ideas do you have? I may say to you "I have already tested it..." or "I don't have tested it, go on!". Recently I met Darrel Cusey through forums who have an intestesting idea. After some mail exchange, we conclude that, if he achieve his plan, it could be integrate in HTC as IGHTC, and of course he can always use it for his own. You have an idea? send me a mail. We are working on an editor/ generation solution for Atlas
I hope this answer your question.

Working with atlas is very very hard because of generation time. Remember that Atlas Handle a file (.chu), and generating a file is long. But there is some way to make it faster. I Think Ben Garney is very busy on it. So dates are really difficult to set (I think you understand that). I'm also working on an editor (not a conventional one). Each time I make a test it take a long time. If this test is successfull, it's great, if not, I have to restart another test and so on.

Now i definitely have no problems with the generators that are being created and such, but I'm definitely looking towards an editor and not a generator. We have a need for a controlled landform, pre-made that is. Well we'll see if anyone else posts. I'll definitely throw some stuff up if I go into an editor on my own, I'm hoping to avoid it though.We'll see.
