Advice on art tools

Hey everybody! Lately I have started drawing again in an attempt to do the art for my game. I used to be quite talented (so I was told). It doesn't seem to be coming back as quick as I hoped. I spend about an hour a day practicing and it is really starting to pay off. I can now draw pretty realistic looking humans. My question is what are some good tools for a complete art pipeline. I was looking at the following:
Silo (for modeling, no animation(?))
ZBrush (for texturing/normal mapping and animation), any other products good for normal maps?
Painter (for texturing)
I have tried to use Blender, I just can't get past the interface (I know, I know, it is actually intuitive once you get used to it).
Any suggestions or advice would be awesome, thanks.

Better question is what are your budget and needs? Are you doing 3D games? 2D games? Web games?
