I didn't see anyone else post this here yet, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Just for the record, the year limit was on being able to download the Express Edition stuff free. It originally said that if you downloaded it during that period, you'd be able to use and reinstall for ever.

I already downloaded it before it was free. Is there a patch or something?

Donald, you wont need to patch, as mentioned above all that's changed is that it'll be available for download for it's entire life cycle, it always would've worked for it's life cycle if you already downloaded it, it just wouldn't be available to new downloaders after a year that's all.

Like we didn't see this coming ;) Seemed a little odd to make it downloadable free for a year when it could be used forever. It was just a typical marketing gimmick to get as much interest and downloads ASAP I think ;)Donald, you wont need to patch, as mentioned above all that's changed is that it'll be available for download for it's entire life cycle, it always would've worked for it's life cycle if you already downloaded it, it just wouldn't be available to new downloaders after a year that's all.

You can do "Help->Check for updates" which will look to see if you need any updates to the version you have.
