Sweeeeeeeett!!!

I must have one. Have ya'll seen this 30" Dell LCD?

You need a DVI-D card to run it. It's got extra pins active for more lines of resolution.

This was shown at CES with the new Dell Quad SLI pc.

6 Million Cones! It must be a bitch with dead pixels!

Dell will repace if more than 5 dead pixels. That's what they have as a line standard.

This is good for me because of the bad disks in my neck. More desktop workspace with less movement required than 2 monitors. In my prime I had 3 machines w/21 crts, well back before I started using a switchbox for a single monitor.

My monitor only gets replaced when I have seven. It sucks because I have a bright red pixel 24/7 about an inch high off the bossom of the screen and two inches in from the right. It's distracting when I play Deus Ex.

I saw that, and also noticed that every 3 months or so Dell have online coupons that offer pretty huge discounts. Last time was the end of october and they had 33%off plus a seperate stackable discoumt bringing the price of the 24" one down to under $700 + tax.

I'd like to see a 30" one in action and make sure its suitable for games first. Another problem is having the video card that will enable you to run games at the LCD's native resolution. I imagine you can have the display shrink down to the 1:1 pixels, but it seems like a bit of a waste of such large monitor space.

Dells pricing is completely mad. It seem to pretty much go up and down on a daily basis, at least here in Sweden. (based on supply/demand I suppose?).

Certainly it would be nice with one of those 30", but for me personally I think it might actually be a bit TOO big. I'm checking the price on the 2405FPW once in a while though to try to catch it on a good day.... =)
Rumor has it there's a new 24" with better refresh rate on the way so my hope is that the price on the "old" one will go down a bit, I'm perfectly fine with it as I wouldn't really be using it for games.

I'm doing well with a 19" Widescreen, But I'm usually close to the monitor using Max anyway. Mine has a removable pivot, so I lay it down on the desk when Glare gets the better of me.

30" Widescreen would be awesome - But 30" Cinemascope would be even better!

Now I just need to get a make it yourself LCD monitor kit...

This sum bitch is nice... My living room TV is a 32" and I'm happy with the size of it. I can't imagine a PC monitor that big in my music studio. Then again...hmmm...

I don't need more monitor desktop for games but for game tools, Maya and Blender to be specific.
