As the number of schools teaching game design has increased, so has the demand for qualified instructors. Here is a place to post a "want add" with our community for a position at your school. Please include your full school name, contact information, a brief description of your game course/program/degree offering, and your minimum qualification requirements.

We're not so much seeking a full-time instructor (although this may come in the next year as I try to integrate Torque into more of our classes), but we are seeking someone willing to consult to an existing class in March and April of this year (yes, that's as soon as possible!) and work with students on various TGE challenges we've run into in developing a game in our interdisciplinary Multimedia program.

We're looking for someone who has significant, demonstrable experience with TorqueScript. The ideal candidate will also have experience with Torque engine mods and Maya exporting. It's pretty demanding, but a great experience for someone who may want to get further into working with students in technical areas!

I'm posting this here because we also have a number of interesting future developments in the works at our school which may be of interest to game design instructors. It's all in the planning stages, however, so I can't publicly give too many details yet, but I'll tell you as much as I can by email!

As the new Program Director of the Game and Simulation Programming department at Devry University, I'll just say I am looking for instructors (ground-based and online), course developers, lab designers and others with solid expertise in the Torque Suite of software. Our program is a full BA degree, focusing on the programming side of game design. Being a relatively new program, we are looking for some outstanding people who want to help create a meaningful learning environment for the gaming students.

If interested, drop me a note, check the program website, plan on visiting the new Devry GSP island in Second Life, or just send up a flare.....

Thanks,

John Jamison
