RTS kit / 1st-3rd persion view

Just wondering if there is a way to make the camera in the RTS pack to work in 1st persion and 3rd persion view and also take the characters that you play back down to 1 insted of all those other guys.

There has been significant discussion of this on the RTS forums and the solution (I believe...it's been a long time) was to reimplment the default TGE camera (or advanced camera) and switch between camera objects. Again, it's been a while so I don't remember and search is being a little wonky this morning.
