3d in T2D

Hi all,

I'm trying to do a Resident Evil like game with T2D. You know, 2d backgrounds and 3d characters. Is it planned to add shadows to t2dShape3d?

Thanks in advance and sorry for my english,
Banky

I believe the shadows in the original RE were actually a part of the model with alpha transparency (though I am trying to remember shadows in 1 and 2 during gameplay). Remake, however used some of the same rendering tricks that AitD: A New Nightmare used, plus 3D lighting of simple collision objects to determine throw and fall and opacity.

Blitz Backdrop, while developed for Blitz3D and 3DS Max users, is a great way to look at the process.

We haven't planned to do that but it may happen. You could certainly activate that as I believe the shadow code is in the core code that comes from the TGE.

Unless you're talking about the upcoming Torque 2D (for which features we in the community really only have the vaguest of ideas about) then I believe the answer to this one is no.
