1.4 and Lighting Kit

I have Torque 1.4 and the Synapse Lighting Kit 1.3.5. My questiong is: Are these compatible, or am I going to have to find Torque 1.3?
Also, any word on when TBE will be compatible with Torque 1.4?

John... how does this work now... do i still have to purchase a license to use the TLK, or is it an integral part of TGE 1.4?--Mike

Yes. You have to purchase it. Some of the base features have been folded into 1.4 to make integration easier, but it is still a separate product.

Saying that TLK is already integrated would indicate, to me anyway, that all of the functionality is already present and, from a more traditional consumer standpoint, that it can be accessed/ unlocked by purchasing the license to TLK in addition ot TGE.
Saying that "Some of the base features have been folded into 1.4 to make integration easier" implies something a bit different. I believe this is where people are getting mightily confused.

David, I think this is were people's understanding of the issue breaks down.Saying that TLK is already integrated would indicate, to me anyway, that all of the functionality is already present and, from a more traditional consumer standpoint, that it can be accessed/ unlocked by purchasing the license to TLK in addition ot TGE.

The Torque Lighting Kit (TLK) is a separate product. None of the TLK features were moved into TGE - TLK is still an entirely unique product.

When you purchase TGE you receive only the TGE source code.
When you purchase TLK you receive the TLK and TGE source code already integrated into each other, so there's no work involved and it runs out of the box (and all the TLK code is heavily commented making it easy to customize).

I think the confusion started when the TGE 1.4 demo was released. It uses TLK to show people what TGE can do with all the bells and whistles (like adding on TLK).
Let me know if this helps clear things up,

The Torque Lighting Kit is already integrated into Torque, it's ready to use right out of the box.
