T2D 1.1 Beta) Am I dreaming... ?

We've spoken as a community and we were heard! "Please give us a beta!" we cried!
Melv follows up with a plan that goes SO much farther than I would have expected... the DTS stuff is really off the chart. (Frankly, I think you need a different monetization strategy, because seeing that wants to make me pay more... that's a lot of value).... but anyway.
Now, the dream: Thanksgiving is almost upon us. Many of us have vacations coming up (at least Thursday - Sunday). I've been dreaming of herculean efforts on the part of Josh to get us a packaged build by Thanksgiving. I dream about the "Christmas Day" like excitement of myself and everyone who, giddy with some time-off can dig in and engage with the new bits. And, I dream of how good an exhausted Josh would feel for having gotten that monkey off his back before his holiday.
Like I said... I can dream, can't I? What do you think?

I know... I know... I'm thinking Windows only. But Josh already mentioned that Mac and Linux would not be available with the beta drop because of a lack of development resources (sounds like a call to the community if you ask me). Frankly, I wouldn't mind a .zip file with everything in it.) Take the head build from SVN, clean solution, build Debug, build Release. did both build cleanly? Excellent. Next, run a couple of simple samples they must have lying around to test things. Melv shows movie samples with each plan, so I assume that these samples are maintained for regression testing? If things pass, release. No?
Now, granted, I'm probably way oversimplifying things... and perhaps I'm just a little naive. Heck, if it comes down to the bottleneck being Josh's time, then please sign someone up as a a volunteer release lackie--heck, I'd be happy to help out with that for the priviledge of getting access to the SVN.
I'm walking an extremely delicate line... I realize this. I certainly don't want to come off as a "whiner" that I was so boldly mocking in my last thread. I'm simply trying to get progress for GG and the community. The reality is, over the next 5 weeks, it's going to be extra hard to get ANYTHING done, with vacations and holidays. If time is the precious resource, because Josh is super swamped, then I recommend that we find a delegate that can help under the direct supervision of Josh. I know for myself, my best opportunity to play with 1.1 beta is over Thanksgiving and during most of Dec.
Please advise if (1) I'm way off base, (2) I'm out of line, or (3) you need assistance.

True, but perhaps I'm just naive then? I would have assumed that as part of their nightly build process, they have a custom build script that packages everything up into an installer? Visual Studio bascially does this for you for free these days.I know... I know... I'm thinking Windows only. Absolutely no promises here, but I do see your point about the thanksgiving holiday, and will make sure to bring the idea up with Josh tomorrow.

So once tge 1.4 is released, t2d 1.1 would soon follow.

Don't forget that it's been stated multiple times that they will be using tge 1.4 as the base for t2d 1.1.So once tge 1.4 is released, t2d 1.1 would soon follow.

I had looked at that thread a few days ago. Most of the responses weren't there.

See Jason's other thread for info on the release.

It's out as of yesterday, btw. :) Pulled an almost all-nighter to get 1.4 one night (much to the chagrin of my new girlfriend :), and then worked late again to get T2D alpha out. But, yes, I'm really glad to have it out there. And I should say of course that this is out there mostly due to the oustanding efforts of Melv, Matt and the rest of the T2D'ers here. All thanks to them.See Jason's other thread for info on the release.

Thanks for the hard work ya'll.

But lets face it, Josh has way to much stuff on his plate. He comes up with dates that are generally never even close to his original time frame. This isn't his fault. I just think his hearts bigger then his head.
