TSE Laptops anyone?

by Vashner · in Torque Game Engine Advanced · 10/31/2005 (6:03 pm) · 15 replies

The new laptop video card form factor is starting to bear fruit.

Has anyone tried TSE out on one of these new Shader 3.0 laptops?

Hi all,

I'm just now getting around to this thread so please forgive my lateness. I'm kind of surprised there haven't been more responses to this thread.

Anyway, I'm running TSE on a Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2 and it works great. Definitely the best hardware investment I've ever made.

Hypersonic Aviator MX6

2ghz Pentium M (w/ 2mb cache)
2gb ram (2x 1024)
6600go 128mb ram

I love this machine, but be warned: whatever the time they say they will ship your system in (in days), multiply it by weeks....

so if they say it will ship in 2 days, its going to take you 2 weeks to get it...

otherwise a beautiful system

This is what im thinking about getting:

http://www.pctorque.com/sager-9890-gaming-computers.php

P4 3.0GHZ - 3.8GHZ Intel 64bit 2MB L2 Cache
nVIDIA GeForce Go 7900 GTX with 512mb of DDR3 (you can swap for better graphics card)

best thing is if you already have an OS or can get discounts you dont have to buy with an OS installed.

Some decent notebooks for developers:

http://www.clevo.com.tw/products/D900K.asp

they make notebooks for most of the high end systems the brand names sell
