Vehicle station done.. vehicle tutorial almost ready.

Ive been working on a quite comprehensive vehicle tutorial this last week or two. Just wanted to share my progress without spamming my plan file.

Just got the spawn station script code sorted. Here's a couple of shots.

Tutorial is coming some time next week if I get all the vehicle models in.

Best bit is there's no hard code in there, it can spawn ANY vehicle just scans the drive for vehicles and descriptions, sends the spawn command to the server and that takes care of spawning.

Not bad considering Ive no idea how to script :)

PHIL! what happened to this? Did you decide not to release? I think this would help alot of games out there. Its like 2 systems in one. both of which are very usefull.

We have this completely working on our game too. Its not that hard to implement.
Use a trigger to activate a selection GUI and a spawn point to spawn the vehicle.
No need to dig up this ancient topic ;)

I had a look through my numerous old installs of Torque and Ive still got the code for this.

I'll try and get a zip file together, if someone cares to test it with the current builds, I doubt there's anything in there that would break.

I used a modified guiplayerview control, perhaps someone could incorporate the recent version into my stuff.

Anyway, I'll try and get it together before the weekend.

Phil that would be great. I am going to be using an vehicle station also and this would help me a lot. I have been plugging away at my game and I will hopefully have some screenshots by the end of the month for all of you guys.

Phil, I'd be happy to test it out for you. I just started doing some things with vehicles again. Funny, because I was just thinking about the Tribes2 vehicle station two days ago and now this thread resurfaces.

Sometimes i find jewels in my old directories. Thanks alot Phil. This will help tons of groups with spawning item/vehicles/objects. I cant wait to test client initiated spawning.

Sorry for the delay guys, the doc I wrote for the tutorial is on a backup CD somewhere. I'll have a look tuesday night for it and see if I can get it posted.
